Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of playback. By installing, opening, or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use playback
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a playback account. You're responsible for any account activity, including any co-parents you invite. The app is intended for adult journaling about kids' sports activities; it isn't designed for, marketed to, or usable by children directly.
2. Your content
Everything you put into playback — kid names, game entries, photos, videos, audio recordings, reflections, tags — is your content. You keep ownership.
You grant r7labs a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and display your content solely as needed to provide the Service to you and to anyone you explicitly share it with (co-parents you invite, recipients of family-share links you generate). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content you've already shared via a public share link, which persists until you revoke it.
You're responsible for what you put in. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share. Don't upload content depicting minors other than children in your care or children whose parents have authorized you. Don't upload content that's illegal, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without prior written consent.
- Access the Service through automated means in a way that imposes unreasonable load.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use the Service to violate any law or regulation.
- Use the Service to upload child sexual abuse material (CSAM); we report any such content to NCMEC and law enforcement.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialize the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of this section.
4. Subscriptions and payments
playback offers a free tier, a free trial, and paid subscription tiers ("Pro"). Pro features may include AI memory polish, voice transcription, family-share links, year-end memory book PDFs, and other features marked with the Pro badge in the app.
- Billing. Subscriptions are processed via the App Store or Google Play. Pricing, billing dates, and cancellation are governed by your store account. We don't store your payment instrument.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage subscriptions in your App Store / Google Play settings.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their store policies; we don't process refunds directly.
- Free trial. Trials convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before expiry.
- Print orders placed via Stripe Payment Links are governed by the print partner's terms; we facilitate the order metadata but the print partner fulfills it. Refunds for print orders are handled by the print partner.
5. Family-share links
When you generate a share link, anyone with the link can view its contents in a browser. Share links are unindexed (not crawled by search engines) but should still be treated as semi-public. You can revoke any share link from within the app. We are not liable for re-sharing of your content by recipients.
6. Co-parent collaboration
When you invite a co-parent, you grant them read/write access to the specified kid's games. They can edit, delete, or share entries. You can remove their access at any time from Settings → Children. Co-parents are bound by these Terms when they accept an invite.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (listed in the Privacy Policy). Their availability, performance, and policies are outside our control. If you provide your own OpenAI API key, you're responsible for paying OpenAI directly per their pricing; we don't pass costs through.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Email support@r7labs.io to request deletion of all cloud data.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service becomes commercially unreasonable. Where practicable we'll give notice before termination so you can export your data.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be preserved. Back up anything irreplaceable.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, r7labs WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions don't allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless r7labs, its officers, directors, and employees from any claim arising from your content or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If you reside in a jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection laws override this section, those laws apply only to the extent required.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
